Why is the advice "don't become rich, it'll make you sad or hyperfixated on money" instead of something like "if you're rich, find something fulfilling to do because money can't fix that"? You can't convince anyone that knowing your basic necessities will forever be taken care of and the disposable funds to support your whims is some kind of burden, just like you couldn't convince an unattractive person they shouldn't want to be incredibly hot simply because some hot people complain that they don't know if others like their personality (which is solved by just spending time with them platonically long enough). If you're rich and you hang out with other rich people and those other people never want anything from you, then they probably like you. Heck, hang out with people without telling them you're rich and see if they like you. Acting like it's a permanent curse of money and not emotional insecurity is ridiculous. No one is going to ever pity wealthy individuals who consciously choose to never seek fulfillment. Having money is the only way to even be able to take a step back for some extended soul-searching and still be able to live comfortably, come right back to where you left off with no recourse, or completely shift your life towards your new desire with ease. What's next, telling people that actually a loving home and encouraging parents is somehow worse than divorced or abusive parents? Garbage advice.

I didn’t know billionaires but i used to work for many millionaires and they were the most miserable, angriest, saddest, loneliest bunch of old men. Usually in a third or fourth relationship with someone much younger who didn’t love them and was ready to take advantage 😢 Kids with different women and lots of child support payments and alimonies etc. One of them left their journal out and i read the first paragraph, it said, “How do i know if the people around me really love me for me or my money?” So sad.

I’m glad I was informed of this billionaire’s dilemma. Now I now what to expect when I go past $300 million. lol
